Jamie Madewan

Jamie Madewan was born and raised in Richmond, BC, where his basketball journey began at RC Palmer Secondary before continuing at Langara College.

Throughout his playing career, Jamie was part of multiple championship-winning programs, including high school AAA Provincial Championships and both a CCAA Provincial and National Championship with Langara College. He also represented Basketball BC on provincial teams from Grade 8 through Grade 12, earning a bronze medal and First Team All-Star honours in his final season.

During his graduating year at R.C. Palmer, Jamie was named Richmond Male Athlete of the Year and was a nominee for BC High School Player of the Year before going on to attend Langara College.

Jamie began his coaching career by assisting with basketball programs at his alma mater, RC Palmer Secondary School. For the past three years he has been training young athletes in Victoria, BC both as part of club programs and also as a private trainer. He has also run successful after school programs based in Victoria. A certified referee, he has an in-depth and comprehensive knowledge of the game. Recently he completed the CanFit Pro personal training program in order to more closely understand the athletic performance component of working with young and developing athletes.

Jamie is bringing his playing and coaching experience back to the community where his own basketball journey began. Through Madewan Athletics, his focus is on helping the next generation of athletes develop their skills, confidence, and character, while becoming the best version of themselves—both on and off the court.
